On April 22, 2016, CMS' RDS Center announced a change in location for sending cost and retiree data files to the RDS Center Mainframe. We announced on November 21, 2016 that files must be sent to the new location beginning December 19, 2016. Effective immediately, Vendors that previously submitted files to the RDS Center Mainframe using Connect:Direct must now send files to RDS' new mid-tier location. CMS' RDS Center has been working closely with affected Vendors throughout this transition to make the necessary configuration changes. Plan Sponsors are encouraged to communicate with their Vendors to ensure files are successfully sent to the new location.
Note: The options for cost reporting methods in Payment Setup and Retiree Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) methods and sources have not changed in the RDS Secure Website. These options still reference the Mainframe. CMS’ RDS Center will update the references to the Mainframe at a later date and will announce the changes on this website.
