CMS' RDS Center will perform system maintenance on the RDS Secure Website on Friday, September 12, 2025, beginning at 9:00PM ET and concluding Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 10:00AM ET. The SWS will be available during this time with the following limitations until after system maintenance concludes: Retiree Files uploaded during this time will not appear on the SWS; Weekly Notification Files and Retiree Response Files will not be available for download; and Covered Retiree Lists requested during this time will not be available to view or download. RDS to Discontinue Support of Internet Explorer in Early 2022

Beginning on January 9th, 2022, CMS’ RDS Center will no longer support the Internet Explorer (IE) desktop application (browser). 

Microsoft has announced that Internet Explorer (IE) 11 will be retired in June of 2022. As a result, CMS has already begun the transition away from IE, as Google Chrome is now the default CMS browser.

CMS’ RDS Center recognizes that a subset (approximately 25%) of Secure Website users still use Internet Explorer. However, after 1/9/2022 RDS will no longer support the IE browser. CMS’ RDS Center recommends Google Chrome as the preferred browser when accessing the Public Website (PWS) and the Secure Website (SWS).

Below are the recommended browsers for CMS’ RDS Secure Website (SWS) and Public Website (PWS): 

  • Google Chrome (Preferred) 
  • Microsoft Edge (i.e., Chromium) 
  • Mozilla Firefox 
  • Apple Safari
